Book 7

Yup, that's right. J.K. Rowling just released the title of Book 7. And it's......

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".

This book is probably going to be alot darker than the previous ones, and so the title is very fitting. "The Deatly Hallows" sounds eerie, and very, very important. The word "hallowed" can mean one of 2 things: Either set apart, consecrated, the holy sense of the word; or the honor sense of the word, to be highly venerated, or given great respect. Considering Book Six, and the themes of Voldemort's horcruxes, I assume that the title is talking about sacredness. Reading about the seven pieces of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's soul gave me a foreboding feeling. The books are getting into deeper, more serious things, like horcruxes. In Book 7, Harry is going to be trying to destroy the four (Is it 3 or 4? I can't remember.) objects that carry pieces of Voldemort's soul, in order to destroy the Dark Lord, once and for all. Horcruxes are awful, and evil, because the soul is sacred. I think this theme will be very important in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"! And I am so excited about this book, because, even though it is getting darker, Harry is being confronted with evil in a more real way than before, and he must fight it, or die in the attempt. Personal convictions aside, (I think Harry should die. It would give the series closure, even though I don't believe Jo would do it) this book is going to be wonderful!

Harry Potter and Reality TV

I thought this was sorta funny. (Click the pic to make it bigger) And it has something to do with Harry Potter, so there you go! No offense meant to those who watch reality TV, really! I just think it's great that kids can read Harry Potter (and other books!) and come into a whole new world by reading. That's why I liked it.

And 2 days ago was Hermione Granger's birthday.
And, National Talk Like a Pirate Day. I can't believe I missed it!

Rodents of Unusual Size

When I went to Denver last weekend to see an amazing performance of the world's best musical ever, we went to the zoo, and saw this strange looking creature...its called a Capybara, and its the world's largest rodent. They remind me of the R.O.U.S.s ("Rodents of Unusual Size - I don't think they exist") from The Princess Bride. I never knew such large rodents existed, but they're very interesting...and they're rather cute in person.

Why i wish i was Catholic...

Ok. I don't really. But they have a service like every day of the week before Easter! And if I went to a Catholic school I would probably get it off because it's holy week. My Mom wasn't sure if I should even take Good Friday off...lol! A long weekend was nice, but having the whole week off would be amazing...

No, i really don't wish I was a devout Catholic, or attended Catholic school...

Les Miserables

In only 33 days, i will be doing something i have wanted to do for a very, very long time. Go see Les Miserables!! On May 4th, I will be in Denver...seeing Victor Hugo's masterpiece on the stage! I'm very excited!! But while i'm waiting, i've found the following interesting things on les mis related topics...
